Big Pharma’s War on Marijuana

While I’m working on the next post, have a look at this.

My next post will give you a second serving of food for thought on this topic!

Patients for Medical Cannabis

On this episode of America’s Lawyer, Mike Papantonio discusses the reasons why the marijuana legalization effort failed in Arizona and speaks with Justin Strekal, Political Director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, about what pharmaceutical companies have to gain from keeping marijuana illegal.

The Pharma assholes want to ban Kratom now, too….

    • Well then…we wouldn’t want patients to be empowered to treat their own pain, would we? No, Big Brother doesn’t want anyone but Big Pharma regulating our mu receptors.

I think kratom is a wonderful medicine, sort of like coca in that it helps people adapt to hardship in their lives.

Anyone who can manage their pain with natural herbs and avoid pharmaceuticals is fortunate indeed.

  2. Very nice post. I have already known that pharmaceuticall companies are quaking in their boots. I think is an outrage that this is happening. MJ needs to be legal because it has no side effects and leaves no damage to humans or pets. Industrial hemp works pretty good as an alternative but is not strong enough for severe pain or cancer.

This country is in dire straits and the present folks running the US are doing a great deal of damage. I am deeply afraid for folks that need MJ.

    • It is scary. There’s a ton of money sitting there. Some people are calling it a “gold rush.”

Back when it was suppressed to the point where only people who were willing to break the law and lose their freedom were willing to use plant material of unknown provenance, it was just another way to keep the poor in check. It certainly was good business for drug cartels and private prisons! Now that we’ve got medical cannabis in more than half the states, we know how good it is to have safe, clean, legal medicine. Big Pharma knows it too, and boy are they surprised to find that the cat is oh so very out of the bag on the real medicinal benefits of the herb. Note they’re going to have to fight to try to, as one cannabis entrepreneur put it, get the toothpaste back in the tube. I anticipate a lot of shakeups in a lot of quarters as this battle for control unfolds.

      Alaska, anyone?

      • You are so correct on all accounts. I surely hope that big pharma does not win. It would be very bad for so many people and pets as well.

  3. Sorry I had a typo on pharmaceutical. I accidently added an “l” and didn’t intend to that.

  4. South Africa has one of the leading crime rates in the world. We are behind the rest of the world in EVERYTHING (development, technology etc). Yet we are in the process of legalising daga (marijuanna) as we speak. Bit ironic don’t ya think? And why a synthetic version of the natural product? Reeks of exploitation
