The Sad Girl

This hits me right in the heart. Thank you, Autumn. Every sad little girl should have a friend like you.

I’ve been working on some projects full of happy children, and I was really struggling. Mom suggested I draw a child who wasn’t happy, and that’s when this girl appeared.  I didn’t know why she was sad, but I knew she wanted to be left alone to sort it out.  But I stayed with her, giving her lots of space as I painted the grass around her. Eventually I found out the story, and I reassured her she would be okay in another picture.
